Behind the Scenes with Houston Photographer Akil Bennett

I am behind the scenes with Houston based photographer, Akil Bennett. He's relaxed and the bride, Jasmine Warrican, is comfortable with letting him know what she's expecting from the shoot. Akil informs her that a shot would be good from this angle and Jasmine moves in the props that she has brought along to the shoot including a posh zebra chair - bringing a little bit of home from her living room, an umbrella, a bird cage veil, and an embellished headband to switch things up.

Jasmine's dress is beautiful from Winnie Bridal Couture custom made just for her big day and all accessories are from David's Bridal. The headband was delicately made by Jasmine as she made it from ribbon and embellishments from Hobby Lobby. A crafty bride may I add!

We start out at Hotel Icon and end in a quite neighborhood located by Rice University.
