Break Away to Paradise

Paradise is at your fingertips, literally. You're a mouse click away from vacation. You've been pushing yourself all week at the office, stressed out about that overfilled laundry hamper, and you've had it up to here with bills & junk mail. Don't stress it lovely!

The key to staying younger is loving the life you live! You are literally two hours away from paradise - to all of you hard working Houstonians. It's time for a weekend vacay! For those of you who have 4 day work weeks this week take advantage of it. Book now to leave Friday!

I am back and so refreshed! What better timing to jump into my 4 day work week! I was stressed with my work weeks and 'to-do' list & I got enough R&R to last a while. Have I got you wondering the destination?

Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico!

Wondering how to book, where to stay, and what to eat? I've got you covered.
Here's what your weekend in paradise looks like. Take note, because you deserve it!

Looking to book a hotel or a private villa? Hotel Melia Cancun is a great stay or book a private villa with your own private balcanys and your own beach. Here's how.....

Bring your acoustic guitar. ME has amazing Bali beds. It's the perfect place to write, relax, or just to sit in the sand with your guitar in hand. A lovely place to play.

The Bali beds are great at Hotel ME especially if you have a group of 2-4 people and would like to lay out to get a little sun and R&R. There is a live DJ in this area and the mixes are wonderful. A perfect trip for you and the girls!

What to eat at Hotel ME....

The food was wonderful at ME! I had amazing fish, steak, ceviche & flan. Hotel ME has several restaurants including: Silk/Salt, E-Space, The Water Grill, & The Beach House. The Water Grill & The Beach House are beach front, E-Space is in the posh computer lounge, & although Silk/Salt are in the same facility Salt is an all day buffett, and Silk is a high-end Asian cuisine.

A few tips and pointers before you leave to Cancun....

Take the bus around Cancun when getting from point A to B. Taxis are much more expensive and are not metered. You could go the same exact distance and one day it would be 120 pesos the next taxi 70 pesos and the next 180 pesos. The bus is a set standard rate and doesn't change and the cheapest way of getting around.

Just because your wristband ensures that your meals and drinnks are all inclusive does not mean that you get to eat when you want. Make sure to make reservations (by phone) for the restaurant of your choice at ME. Even if you are a guest at the hotel paying for a room does not mean that they will seat you without reservation even if there are 20 tables open in front of you, and no one has reserved them. They stand by this rule and will not let you eat. You will have to walk across the street to other restaurants. Even if the restaurant, like ME's The Beach House of Water Grill is layed back and does not require dress code they will still not sit you at a table if you did not make reservation by phone from 9am - 4pm even if you want to make a reservation right there face to face. They will not let you eat.

Also, on Sunday when you check out make sure to go to the breakfast buffet at 11am in Salt. It is the only thing open at ME besides The Water Grill outside. Although their sign at the Beach House says 11am you will not get lunch until 12pm. But if that is your check out time, Sunday, your all inclusive meals are no longer inclusive and you'll have to pay for it. You will also be late for check out seeing that your luggage is upstairs because you didn't want to bring it down to the beach to eat a nice last meal before going home with that nice little 'all inclusive' wrist band. You will then be charged $50 to check out late, even if it's 5 minutes late because you waited an hour for lunch when the sign at The Beach House said they opened at 11am. Avoid all the hassel, enjoy breakfast at Salt buffet or The Water Grill buffet because you won't be getting lunch at this time.

Go to Senor Frogs. It is a blast.

Go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. It is delicious.

Go parasailing. You get great views.

Go to Cancun, you're going to have a wonderful time.

Enjoy!
