Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam breaks out with news of a debut record.
Here is the scoop on her style, involvement in Houston's WOW & how you can help the making of Rebekah's album.
Tell me a little bit about WOW & your involvement:
'I was the winner of the dress at the Women of Wardrobe Sizzling Summer Soiree Tootsies Kick off event held at Hotel ZaZa. A few years ago, I served as president of Women of Wardrobe benefitting Dress for Success Houston. And, WOW is still my lucky charm. I have won so many fabulous gifts at WOW events including a pair of Manolo Blahniks at a Houston Tidbits/ WOW party promoting the release of the first Sex and the City movie.'
I've seen you looking adorable in David Peck's line crOp, tell me a little bit about your style:
As far as my personal style. It's pretty simple and understated mostly. I love to add big beautiful jewelry pieces and my black classic Manolo Blahnik pumps to dress up a pair of jeans and a cute top. I like to be comfortable when leading worship and when worshipping. I believe that God calls us like we are and wants us to come to Him and be real. However, I do like to dress nice and be respectful. Because, I feel that worshipping our maker is a humbling, respectful, beautiful place to be. I do enjoy dressing up more for holidays and special concerts and events. And, incorporating local fashion into this is very special for me.
I love to support other artists in the community and to give back.
'The studio is booked, the musicians are ready, the songs are ready and I need your help to get there!'
Rebekah is currently hosting a project on kickstarter.com to fund her recordings:
'I am humbled and thrilled to be able to share this exciting news with you. After writing many songs over the last several years, (if I can pre-sell a total of $25,000 on kickstarter) I am going to be recording my debut album in Nashville in March! I have an amazing producer! (he has produced one of my all-time favorite records.) And, he has put together an extremely talented team in Nashville. We are going to record a 10 song record of my best songs. It is going to be amazing!'
Rebekah needs help raising funds to get to Nashville & to record her album and you can sponsor her by going to the links below.
