Stylist and fashion columnist Haili Z takes the spring to explore the season's top trends in Los Angeles. First stop, Robertson Boulevard.
LUBLU is a wonderful place to start showing off the chic trend of the minimal waist skirt. The trend is lovely and ultra feminine, mimicking a skirt. Worn at the waist and ending at the hips, some waist skirts are sewn into the dress, while others sold as belts.
Dress up any attire with the waist skirt for interviews, work, or dinner.
Another designer, located on Robertson Boulevard, shows the trend in the Marc Jacobs store, flaunting it with a paneled dress.
As for the waist skirt being available in Texas, BCBG Max Azria sports it with a belt in solid black that can be thrown over high waisted pants or skirt.
The point of this trend stands true as it completes any outfit, making the apparel flow in a chic way. Depending on body size and shape determines where you should wear the skirt over your apparel to make it work.
Wear the minimal waist skirt over a high waisted skirt and blouse, or over a solid dress to complete the look.
You are one step closer to your power dress!
