If you attended
Texas A&M, had a
Texas A&M football dress made, shopped at the coolest vintage store that
Northgate had to offer then you are familiar with the name
Kellie Lewis and her line
Material.
Material has now moved to
Austin, Texas but she is definitely not betraying
Aggies as she claims she is keeping the store in
College Station and will continue to make the
Texas A&M football dresses. And if you love her line enough you know that
Austin is definitely her outlet.
Material is now participating in
Austin Fashion Week. If you are interested in seeing her new work get the first looks here but it'll make for a fun road trip with the girls to hit 35 South to Austin TX for a memorable event. If you are already attending don't forget to check out
Material!
A little Q&A with Kellie Lewis
FOTW: Is this your first year to do Austin Fashion Week?
KL:
The whole thing is still really new. I have done it every year and this is only the third year. They are still figuring things out, so it has been a little different each time as they learn what works and doesn't.
FOTW: Loving the idea of fashion week in Austin, how is it?
KL:
It is different from most fashion weeks but I think really fitting for Austin and showcasing local businesses and designers.
FOTW: When does AFW start?
KL:
It starts Saturday and goes all week with events all over town. You can get more info on their site and voting is going on right now for designers, like myself. As well as the Mash-up Teams. My team is Pony Up!
